The evolution of ikebana has resulted in a rich variety of co-existing, aesthetic approaches or "schools". Some ikebana schools retain a classical approach to design, reminiscent of ikebana's origins as Buddhist altar arrangements, some have a more relaxed and naturalistic style, while others are very unconventional. There are hundreds of different schools. Hana Chapter represents 4 schools. |
