Ikebana The evolution of ikebana has resulted in a rich variety of co-existing, aesthetic approaches or "schools". Some Ikebana schools retain a classical approach to design, reminiscent of Ikebana's origins as Buddhist altar arrangements, some have a more relaxed and naturalistic style, while others are very unconventional. There are hundreds of different schools. Ikebana International, Hana Chapter of Belgium represents 3 schools: Ikenobo - Ohara - Sogetsu Hana Chapter of Belgium is an enthousiastic group of people who organise every year several activities including workshops and demonstrations of different Ikebana schools. Three times a year members receive a colourful booklet from Japan (in English). Motto: Friendship through Flowers |
